Wood-Chip Marge

This 8-foot tall, 500 pound chainsaw carving of Marge Gunderson from the movie Fargo which stands on the second floor of the Fargo Theatre. The inscription on the base of the statue reads:

Presented to
The City of Fargo
by MGM Home Entertainment

Marge wood sculpture

Why is this sculpture in Fargo? The character is from Brainerd MN. The film has almost nothing to do with Fargo accept for the name. The film's name should have been "Brainerd", a much more bizarre name to fit the film.

I agree that most of the movie takes place in Brainerd, but since the movied was the named Fargo, I suppose Fargo should have a right to take advantage of it, whatever that's worth. Here are my thoughts on the move from a while back: http://whereproject.org/node/96
